Plastic fixtures crack under freeze-thaw cycles. Zinc alloy corrodes. Cheap transformers fail on schedule. The companies selling those systems know it — some of them count on it. A system that needs replacing in five years is a customer who has to buy again.
Buckeye Lighting was built around a different philosophy: install it right the first time, use materials that last, stand behind the work with a real warranty, and never give a homeowner a reason to call back for a problem.
Why Brass and Copper
Most outdoor lighting contractors install whatever's cheapest to source and easiest to install at volume. That means plastic housings, zinc alloy fixtures, and mid-grade transformers — materials that perform adequately in mild climates and fail predictably in Northeast Ohio's winters.
We've never installed a plastic fixture. Not once.
Solid brass and copper are the materials used in commercial and hospitality installations that are built to last decades. They expand and contract with temperature changes without cracking. They don't corrode. They don't fade. And over time, they develop a natural patina that makes them look more at home in the landscape — not less.
It costs more to do it this way. We think it's the only way worth doing.

Firm quote upfront

Clean installation
All wiring buried, all fixtures aimed and adjusted by hand, everything calibrated before we leave. When the job is done, we walk through it with you to make sure you love it.
No maintenance required
And then we're done. No annual maintenance visits. No recurring fees. No reason to come back — because nothing needs fixing.
